When reading this with you little ones:
1) Point at the color word (i.e. PINK) and tell them the word is PINK too, like the pig. Point out other PINK things in their environment by saying things like, "Your socks are PINK, like the pig."
2) Talk about the the colors in the book OTHER than the ones listed on each page. Say things like, "I see a GREEN snake and a RED couch."
3) Skip to favorite pages. It's okay to skip pages and come back and forth.
4) Get your own ball and bounce it around, talking about what it bounces or bumps into. Say things like, "Oops, I bumped the BROWN door!"
